One of the best ways we like to use sunflower microgreens is to blend them into our smoothies. Whether it's a fancy smoothie bowl with all the toppings or a quick on thrown together while you're running out the door, it's an easy way to add in some extra micronutrients into your meals. You might be familiar with putting in spinach into your smoothie for extra greens (highly recommend it). You can still add in the spinach if you choose to add in microgreens too. We like sunflower because it's got more of a nutty flavour than the other microgreens. Our go to smoothie recipe is
-Half of banana
- 1 cup of berries
- scoop of protein powder
- handful of spinach
- handful of microgreens
-water
Nothing fancy, a pretty standard recipe but we love it! If you use frozen bananas and make a thicker smoothie bowl, we like to add cacao nibs, coconut flakes , seeds, chia seeds and goji berries.
