Takeout Fried Rice at Home and Microgreens

Writer: Everyday Micros FarmEveryday Micros Farm

Sometimes we want takeout food (usually on a Friday night or weekend) when the last thing I want to do is cook. One of the things we try to do is if we want a meal that is a little more indulgent, we like to make it at home. That way, we know the ingredients and can reduce the amount of processed foods a restaurant might use to get that dish ready as soon as possible. With a bit of chopping, we like making fried rice at home. Now we're no experts, a couple things my Chinese college roommates taught me – always use leftover rice and fry the rice in butter!

Fried rice with cabbage microgreens

On this Saturday night, I was trying to make an interesting meal with what I had in the fridge and pantry. This recipe helped us figure out how to put together something delicious. We added cabbage microgreens on top this time, but I'm really curious if how the mustard mix would taste with it. Perhaps we'll give it a go next time. If you have any other recipes to try, please send them our way!
